A photo booth at a brand activation is not decoration. Done well it is a queue that draws people in, a branded keepsake they carry out the door, a piece of content they post, and a lead in your CRM. Done badly it is a generic booth with your logo on the corner of a print. These ideas come from activations we have built for brands including UNIQLO, Netflix and Peacock, and they work for pop-ups, product launches, retail events, conferences and festivals.

1. Wrap the whole booth, not just the print

The booth is the first thing people see from across the room, so it should look like your brand before anyone steps up. For UNIQLO at Dodger Stadium, we printed and applied a full custom vinyl wrap across the entire Mochi Booth body. A wrapped booth photographs well in wide shots, reads as part of the set, and turns the booth itself into brand media.

2. Brand the guest journey on screen

Guests spend more time looking at the touchscreen than at the print. A branded UI carries your visual system through every step: the start screen, the frame selection, on-screen overlays, and the share screen. At Dodger Stadium, the UNIQLO start screens, strip templates and SMS/email share flow all matched the brand, so the experience felt designed by UNIQLO, not rented.

3. Give people a lot of frames to choose from

Choice keeps a line moving and brings people back for a second round. The Mochi Booth carries 100+ digital frames, and for UNIQLO at Dodger Stadium we designed co-branded frames for the UNIQLO Field partnership. Rotating frames by daypart, product or campaign line also gives you a natural way to feature several products in one activation.

4. Tie the activation to a collaboration or drop

A booth works best when it is part of the story. For the UNIQLO × Studio Ghibli collaboration in Los Angeles, guests could personalize their photos with stickers and drawing on the Mochi Booth screen before printing, which made the collab the centerpiece of every strip. Launches, artist collaborations and limited drops all give guests a reason to want this specific photo.

5. Make the print the souvenir

A printed photo strip goes home in a bag and ends up on a fridge or a mirror, where your logo keeps working for months. At Dodger Stadium every fan left with a co-branded UNIQLO × Dodgers strip in hand. For premium events, the Vintage enclosed booth delivers classic film-style prints, and the Glam Booth creates flattering black-and-white portraits that feel editorial.

6. Turn sharing into reach

Instant SMS, email and QR delivery puts the photo on the guest's phone before they leave the booth, ready to post with your hashtag. The share screen is the right place for your campaign handle and hashtag. Across our brand activations, the average share rate is 98%: almost everyone who takes a photo sends it to their phone.

7. Capture leads, with consent

Before the photo is delivered, the booth can ask for an email, phone number or custom fields such as product interest or opt-in to marketing. On average 72% of guests at our brand activations share their details this way. For trade shows and conferences we can also scan badges, and we can send data into your CRM and provide an analytics dashboard after the event. See our trade show photo booth page for show-floor setups.

8. Add motion with a 360 booth

A 360 Booth produces slow-motion video made for Reels and TikTok, with your branded overlay and music. It is a strong second station next to a print booth: one for the keepsake, one for the content.

9. Staff it for the crowd you expect

High-volume events need more than one attendant. For UNIQLO × Dodgers on Father’s Day we ran three wrapped booths with a seven-person team for a 45,000+ crowd, with backups of every printer, camera and computer on site. Tell us your expected attendance and peak hours, and we will plan throughput, staffing and how many booths you need.

10. Plan the logistics early

  • Venue paperwork: convention centers and stadiums usually require a certificate of insurance naming the venue and show management, plus load-in times set by the show.
  • Design lead time: wraps, frames and UI take time to design, proof and produce, so start a few weeks out for a full custom build.
  • Space and power: about 8 × 8 ft per booth and one standard outlet. Our setup guide has the details.
  • Travel: activations outside LA (we have run UNIQLO in New York) include crew travel and freight, quoted for your location.
