If you have walked through Koreatown or scrolled TikTok lately, you have seen them: bright self-photo studios where friends squeeze into a booth, pick a frame, decorate their photos with stickers and doodles, and walk out with a strip in seconds. The Japanese original is called purikura; in Korea the format exploded as the "four-cut" photo strip. Now couples and brands want that same experience at their own events.
That is exactly what our Mochi Booth is: a Korean purikura-style photo booth you can rent for weddings, birthdays and brand activations across Los Angeles and Southern California, and one of very few booths of its kind you can rent in Southern California.
Purikura, four-cut photos and the Mochi Booth: what is the difference?
- Purikura (short for "print club") began in Japanese arcades in the 1990s. Machines take a short series of photos, then let you decorate them on a touchscreen with stickers, stamps, frames and handwriting before printing. SEGA’s arcade guide explains how a modern purikura session works.
- Korean self-photo studios took the idea mainstream: clean lighting, minimal frames, the classic four-photo strip, and props by the mirror. Their high-angle and sticker trends regularly go viral, as the South China Morning Post reported.
- The Mochi Booth brings that experience to your event, with an attendant, unlimited sessions and a booth you can design yourself, from the outside wrap to the stickers on the screen.
How the Mochi Booth works at an event
- Start. Guests tap a start screen designed for your event, with your names, monogram or brand.
- Choose a layout. A classic 2x6 strip or a 4x6 print, in frames we design with you.
- Pose. Soft, even lighting does the work, so every guest looks good without a photographer.
- Decorate. This is the purikura part: guests add digital stickers and draw on their photos on the 21.5-inch touchscreen.
- Print and share. A 300 DPI dye-sublimation print drops in seconds, and the digital copy goes out by text, email or QR code.
Guests can come back as often as they like during your booking, and everything lands in an online gallery after the event.
Everything you can customize
The Mochi Booth is our most customizable booth, which is why brands use it for full brand control and couples use it to match their design:
- The booth itself: a full-body vinyl wrap in your colors, logo or monogram, or your names and date on the panels.
- The touchscreen: custom start, selection, decorate and share screens.
- The prints: custom strip and postcard layouts.
- The stickers: your own digital stickers, drawing tools, logos and wording.
You do not need a design plan. Send your invitation, a mood board or your brand guidelines and we design the details and send proofs before the event.

Who the Mochi Booth is best for
- Weddings that want a modern, playful booth that still looks luxurious, including Korean weddings where guests already know the four-cut format.
- Birthdays, sweet sixteens and first birthdays, where the sticker-and-doodle step keeps the line excited.
- Brand activations and retail launches that need the booth, the screens and the prints to be fully on-brand, with optional guest email capture and CRM integration.
