Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley do weddings in their own style: mid-century hotels, resort lawns under the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountains, and desert sunsets. The desert also brings real heat, so a photo booth needs a little more planning. Here is what to know.
Venue notes
Capacities are from venue pages and tourism listings; always confirm current numbers and vendor rules with your venue.
- La Quinta Resort & Club (La Quinta): the resort lists the Frank Capra Ballroom for up to 500 guests and the La Casa Patio for up to 600, plus far larger ballrooms. Ballrooms are the simplest booth setup in summer.
- Parker Palm Springs: the hotel says most of its weddings welcome 100 to 200 guests, with the Great Lawn holding tented weddings of up to 250. On the lawn, place the booth under the tent or in shade.
- Private estates and mid-century homes: rental homes are popular for welcome parties and smaller weddings. Confirm power, a level spot and any noise or event rules for the property.
Planning for the heat
- Season: summer afternoons in the desert often pass 100°F. Most outdoor weddings land in the cooler months or start in the evening.
- Shade: keep the booth out of direct sun. Electronics run hot, screens are hard to read in glare, and guests won’t line up in the sun.
- Timing: start the booth after sunset, when guests come back outside for drinks and dancing.
- Wind: desert evenings can be breezy, so stands are weighted and backdrops secured.
The full outdoor checklist is in our outdoor photo booth tips.

Weekend weddings
Desert weddings are often whole weekends: a welcome party at a rental home, the wedding, then a pool party or brunch. Tell us every event in your inquiry and we quote them together in one agreement. For the wedding itself, see how many hours you need.
