On October 24, 2026, our Vintage Booth set up on the deck under the oaks at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu for a wedding reception. String lights, woven lanterns and a red velvet curtain: this is what a classic enclosed photo booth looks like at a ranch wedding.

The setup

The booth sat on the wooden deck with the cocktail tables, where guests passed it all night. On the outside: wood-grain walls, a red velvet curtain, the print slot and a retro “Photos” poster designed with the couple’s photos, in the style of the old arcade booths. Inside, guests sat on the bench in front of an olive green velvet backdrop, lit by soft LED bars.

The strips

Every session printed black-and-white strips with three frames on the couple’s custom pink design, from the slot outside the booth. Each strip printed twice: one for the guest to keep, and one for the couple.

Take a strip, leave a strip

Pink heart signs on the booth asked guests to “take a photo strip, leave a photo strip”, and a red-velvet-lined keepsake box on the cocktail table collected the copies. By the end of the night, the couple had a box of strips for their album: a guest book made of faces. Planning your own? Our keepsakes guide covers the guest book album ($75) and other favors.

Why an enclosed booth at a ranch wedding

  • It looks like part of the decor. The cabinet, curtain and poster read as a vintage set piece among the trees and lanterns.
  • Privacy brings out the fun. Behind the curtain, guests relax. Compare it with an open booth in open-air vs enclosed.
  • Strips are the keepsake. Two copies per session make the guest book easy.

The Vintage Booth is $3,750 for 3 hours for weddings, with travel to Malibu a flat $150. Planning an outdoor reception? Read our outdoor photo booth tips and the LA wedding venues guide, which covers Calamigos Ranch.
