Graduation is the one party where everyone wants the same photo: the grad, the family, the friends who got them through finals. A photo booth turns that into a line of happy faces and a print for every guest. Here is how to plan one, for a backyard grad party or a campus event.
Family grad parties vs campus events
| Family grad party | University or school event | |
|---|---|---|
| Who books | The family | The school or department, billed to the institution |
| Rate card | Personal: Glam Booth $1,250 for 3 hours | Corporate: from $1,495 for 3 hours |
| Typical setting | Backyard, restaurant or banquet room | Quad, campus center, alumni night or stadium |
| Paperwork | Agreement and 50% retainer | Agreement, invoice and a certificate of insurance for the campus |
Travel is a flat $150 across LA County, Orange County and the Inland Empire. Full prices are in our price guide.
Which booth?
- Glam Booth: flattering black-and-white or color portraits with unlimited prints. The safe, crowd-pleasing pick for family parties.
- 360 Booth: slow-motion video made for Reels and TikTok. Grads and their friends love it; it is digital only, no prints.
- Mochi Booth: Korean purikura-style photos that guests decorate with stickers and drawing before printing. A hit with a younger crowd.
- Both: for big parties, pair a print booth with a 360 Booth so guests get a print and a video.
Make it about the grad
- Custom print template with the grad’s name, school colors and “Class of” year, included with every package.
- Props: caps, tassels, a diploma, a short sign with the school name. See our props guide; custom props are $150.
- Trading cards: sports-card-style prints with the guest’s photo and custom stats (major, class year, GPA if they dare). 100 cards are $1,450 for family parties.
- Guest book album ($75): friends and family add a print and a message the grad keeps.

Planning tips
- Book early for May and June. Graduation weekends overlap with wedding season, and Saturdays go first.
- Plan 3 hours for most parties up to about 150 guests; add hours or a second booth above that. See how many hours you need.
- Backyard setup: a level 8’ × 8’ spot with shade and power within reach. Our outdoor tips cover the rest.
- Campus setup: confirm the load-in route, parking and who signs off on the insurance certificate.
